In 2025, a significant milestone will be celebrated with the release of a new 70th Anniversary Edition of The Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells, twenty years on from the last anniversary publication.
Alfred Wainwright Books & Memorabilia has collaborated with book publisher Frances Lincoln to create this new reprint, incorporating several enhancements and updated prelims. The box and dust jackets will be adorned with silver, symbolising the 70th anniversary, traditionally associated with platinum. The books will maintain their classic look, returning to hardback cases and dust jackets, with updated colours and elegant gold blocking. They will also be issued with new ISBNs.
The seven individual guidebooks based on Wainwright’s original unrevised works will be available from January 2025 for £14.99 each. Additionally, a limited number of box sets will be available for pre-order at a discounted £69.99 (with free UK P&P until the end of the year). All pre-orders will guarantee a set of these beautifully refined editions.
